ClearPlex® Windscreen Protection Film
ClearPlex® by Madico is an exterior-applied, optically clear windscreen protection film designed to protect vehicle glass from stones, road debris, scratches, pitting and other everyday hazards.
Available as ClearPlex® Original and ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic, the range helps extend windscreen service life, preserve original OEM glass and reduce unexpected repair costs and vehicle downtime. ClearPlex® is particularly valuable for commercial fleets, mining machinery, agricultural equipment, transport vehicles and ADAS-equipped vehicles where windscreen replacement can be expensive and operationally disruptive.
ClearPlex® is a patented PET-based protective film installed on the outside of the windscreen. It creates a transparent sacrificial barrier between the glass and flying stones, gravel, road debris and environmental exposure.
Its abrasion-resistant surface is engineered to withstand normal windscreen-wiper use and daily cleaning while maintaining clear operator visibility. When the film reaches the end of its serviceable life, it can be removed and replaced without replacing the underlying glass.

- Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive
- Removable and replaceable
- Improved rain and water run-off
- Suitable for curved and flat windscreens
- Available in widths suitable for large commercial and fleet glazing
- Guaranteed by the manufacturer not to peel, bubble, crack or yellow during the applicable warranty period
2. ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic
ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic combines windscreen impact protection with integrated nano-ceramic infrared-blocking technology.
This two-in-one construction protects the windscreen while reducing infrared energy entering the vehicle. It can help keep the cabin or operator compartment more comfortable and reduce heat exposure to dashboards, controls, seats and interior finishes.
Because infrared rejection is incorporated into the exterior protection film, ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic may eliminate the need for a separate interior infrared film in suitable applications. This can simplify installation, reduce the number of films required and potentially reduce installation work by approximately 50%.
- Windscreen protection and heat rejection in one product
- Nano-ceramic technology blocks infrared energy
- Approximately 89% infrared rejection
- IR Energy Rejection of approximately 61%
- More than 99% ultraviolet rejection

Commercial Fleet Protection
Windscreen damage is a significant source of unexpected fleet maintenance and vehicle downtime. ClearPlex® allows fleet managers to take a more proactive approach by installing a replaceable protective layer before glass damage occurs.
The film can be inspected and replaced during planned servicing rather than waiting for an unexpected chip or crack to remove the vehicle from operation. For larger fleets, pre-cut and pre-formed ReadyFit kits may be installed three to four times faster than traditional bulk installation, depending on the vehicle and available kit.
Fleet Benefits
- Helps keep revenue-generating vehicles operational
- Reduces unexpected windscreen replacement
- Minimises workshop and service-provider delays
- Helps avoid temporary vehicle-hire costs
- Improves maintenance-cost forecasting
- Allows film replacement to be incorporated into scheduled maintenance
- Protects large, expensive and difficult-to-source windscreens
- Suitable for fleet-wide installation programs
- Available in wider formats for larger commercial windscreens
Mining & Heavy-Equipment Applications
ClearPlex® is well suited to equipment operating in environments where windscreens are regularly exposed to gravel, stones, abrasive dust and flying debris.
Typical applications include:
- Haul trucks
- Excavators
- Bulldozers
- Wheel loaders
- Graders
- Drill rigs
- Underground and surface-mining vehicles
- Light vehicles and site utility vehicles
- Forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Construction and earthmoving machinery
- Forestry and logging equipment
Protecting the original glass can be especially valuable where replacement requires specialist glazing, equipment isolation, mobilisation of repair personnel or extended equipment downtime.
Agricultural-Equipment Applications
Agricultural machinery frequently operates around stones, crop residue, branches, dust and other airborne debris. ClearPlex® can provide an additional protective layer for equipment such as:
- Tractors
- Harvesters and combines
- Crop sprayers
- Telehandlers
- Seeders
- Agricultural loaders
- Farm utility vehicles
- Forestry and land-clearing machinery
ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic can provide additional value in machinery with large glazed cabins by combining debris protection with infrared heat rejection, subject to equipment suitability and visibility requirements.
Transport & Commercial Applications
ClearPlex® is also suitable for:
- Delivery vans and last-mile delivery fleets
- Commercial trucks and prime movers
- Buses and coaches
- Trains and light-rail vehicles
- Airport shuttles
- Rental-vehicle fleets
- Emergency-response vehicles
- Recreational and off-road vehicles
- Luxury, classic and high-value vehicles
- Electric vehicles
- Vehicles fitted with ADAS cameras and sensors
Reducing ADAS-Related Downtime
Modern windscreens may incorporate cameras, sensors, heating elements, antennas and other Advanced Driver Assistance System components. Replacing this glass can involve sourcing specialised parts, removing the original factory-fitted windscreen and recalibrating the vehicle’s safety systems.
ClearPlex® helps protect the existing windscreen so that avoidable replacement and recalibration work may be reduced. This can minimise workshop time and help keep commercial vehicles in service.
Important: ClearPlex® does not replace OEM inspection, repair or calibration requirements. The condition and operation of ADAS equipment should always be assessed according to the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.
More Sustainable Windscreen Management
Extending windscreen life can reduce the number of unnecessary glass replacements across a fleet. This helps reduce consumption of replacement glass, packaging and disposal of damaged automotive glazing.
Madico identifies reduced replacement of non-recyclable automotive glass and associated greenhouse-gas emissions as an environmental benefit of ClearPlex® fleet programs.
ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic may provide additional operational benefits by combining windscreen protection and infrared rejection into a single film rather than installing separate exterior and interior products.
Professional Installation, Supply & Technical Support
ClearPlex® should be professionally installed onto clean, compatible windscreen glass to achieve optimum optical performance, adhesion and service life. Product selection should consider the vehicle type, windscreen size, curvature, wiper system, operating environment and required heat-rejection performance.
Altius Polymers can assist with ClearPlex® product selection for commercial fleets, mining equipment, agricultural machinery, transport vehicles and specialist glazing applications.
Whether you require ClearPlex® Original for dependable impact and abrasion protection or ClearPlex® Nano-Ceramic for combined windscreen protection and heat rejection, Altius Polymers can help identify the appropriate solution for your vehicle or fleet requirements.
