Description

Anti-Reflective Hard-Coated Polycarbonate Sheet

Anti-Reflective Hard-Coated Polycarbonate is a premium optical glazing material that combines the exceptional impact strength of polycarbonate with a dual-sided abrasion-resistant and anti-reflective surface treatment. Designed for applications where safety, durability and exceptional optical clarity are equally important, it provides outstanding visibility while significantly reducing distracting reflections.

With typical visible-light reflectance of less than 1%, the sheet delivers a crystal-clear viewing experience through protective glazing. It is ideally suited for bus driver protection screens, museum displays, artwork protection, digital displays, healthcare environments and high-security facilities where maximum visibility and impact resistance are essential.

Unlike conventional clear glazing, Anti-Reflective Hard-Coated Polycarbonate minimises reflected images from lighting, windows and surrounding objects while maintaining excellent image sharpness and natural colour reproduction. The result is glazing that appears almost invisible while still providing outstanding protection.

Anti-Reflective Hard-Coated Polycarbonate provides the optical performance of premium museum glazing while delivering the outstanding impact resistance and safety benefits of polycarbonate.

Bus Driver Guard & Public Transport Protection

Anti-Reflective Hard-Coated Polycarbonate is particularly suited to bus driver protection screens and public transport safety partitions.

Traditional transparent partitions can reflect dashboard lighting, passenger movement and interior vehicle lighting back toward the driver, particularly during night-time operation. The advanced anti-reflective coating significantly reduces these distracting reflections, providing a clearer line of sight while maintaining excellent communication between drivers and passengers.

The high-impact polycarbonate core also provides excellent protection against vandalism, accidental impact and physical assault while remaining considerably lighter and safer than conventional glass.

Museum & Sensitive Artwork Protection

The exceptionally low reflectance allows visitors to experience artwork, photographs, historical documents and valuable display items without distracting reflections from gallery lighting or surrounding visitors.

The smooth anti-reflective surface preserves colour accuracy, image sharpness and visual depth while the abrasion-resistant hard coating protects the glazing from scratches during handling and routine cleaning.

Ideal applications include:

  • Museum artwork
  • Historic photographs
  • Historical documents
  • Paintings and prints
  • Textile displays
  • Display cabinets
  • Travelling exhibitions
  • Archival collections
  • High-value retail displays
  • Heritage exhibitions

Museum-Grade UV Protection Option

Where conservation-grade protection is required, Anti-Reflective Hard-Coated Polycarbonate may be specified with a verified 99% ultraviolet-blocking museum-grade protection layer or anti-reflective film.

Blocking ultraviolet radiation helps minimise fading, yellowing, discolouration and long-term deterioration of valuable artwork, photographs, textiles and archival materials.

Published UV-blocking performance applies only where approved museum-grade glazing systems or specified anti-reflective films are incorporated into the complete glazing construction.
