Description

LEXAN™ MARGARD™ MR10 is designed for demanding clear glazing applications where standard polycarbonate may scratch too easily. It combines excellent optical clarity with high impact strength, abrasion resistance, UV resistance and long-term outdoor performance. The sheet is commonly used in stores, schools, public buildings, bus shelters, machine guards, transport shelters and other high-traffic areas where vandal resistance, safety and visibility are important.
The MR10 grade is particularly suited to applications requiring a balance of transparency, safety and durability. Its graffiti-resistant surface allows restoration to a like-new condition when cleaned correctly, while the polycarbonate core provides superior impact performance compared with glass or acrylic.

About Polyvantis

Polyvantis was formed through the combination of Röhm’s Acrylic Products business and SABIC’s Functional Forms business, bringing together advanced acrylic and polycarbonate film and sheet expertise under one global supplier. The company supplies high-performance sheet and film products for building and construction, transportation, aviation, electrical, electronics, automotive, healthcare, safety, security and industrial markets.

Polycarbonate sheet products are sold globally under the LEXAN™ Film & Sheet trademark, owned by SABIC or its affiliates.

Its graffiti-resistant surface allows restoration to a like-new condition when cleaned correctly, while the polycarbonate core provides superior impact performance compared with glass or acrylic.

Technology Used

LEXAN™ MARGARD™ MR10 uses MARGARD™ hard-coat technology. This is a proprietary abrasion-resistant and UV-resistant surface coating applied to both sides of the polycarbonate sheet. The technology allows MR10 to retain the toughness and impact strength of LEXAN™ polycarbonate while improving surface durability close to glass performance.

The hard coating also improves resistance to scratching, weathering, chemicals and graffiti, making the sheet suitable for high-contact public-facing glazing applications.

Because of this hard-coated surface, MR10 is recommended for flat transparent applications. It is not suitable for cold forming, and paints, adhesives or other materials generally do not adhere well to the coated surface.

Key Features & Common Applications
